Why We Built TravelOwl
TravelOwl was not born in a boardroom or brainstormed by a team, it in fact began with a conversation (or perhaps a bit of gentle nagging).
After planning nearly all our holidays, I found myself once again urging my husband to help organise our upcoming trip to Japan. Instead of diving into research like I expected, he did something completely different. He built an app. Not just any app, but a tool to help us plan, track, and enjoy our travel in a more streamlined way.
That spontaneous side project soon became something more. And so, TravelOwl was born.
TravelOwl is a labour of love created in our spare time, inspired by years of international adventures, and designed to make travel planning simpler, smarter, and more enjoyable.

Who We Are
TravelOwl is the result of two minds and a shared love for meaningful travel.
We are Sadaf and Syed, a husband-and-wife team who built TravelOwl from scratch while juggling full-time professional roles. Over the past two decades together, we have travelled across numerous countries spanning five continents. Each journey taught us something new, not just about the world, but about the kind of travel tools we wished existed.
What started as a conversation before a trip to Japan became something more, a side project that brought together this fantastic App!
Syed – The Geek and Brains behind TravelOwl
As the architect behind the app, Syed brought it all to life through code. With a strong technical background, he built the app from the ground up, turning ideas into working features. From structure to stability, every function is a product of his expertise and care.
Sadaf – The Organised Half of the TravelOwl Duo
Sadaf is behind the app's visual design, written content, and overall user experience. With a love for travel and a natural flair for organisation, Sadaf ensures the app feels intuitive, helpful, and grounded in real-world needs. She also takes charge of testing, feedback and incoming correspondence.
